My Journey into the Heart of Early Childhood Education
Fifteen years ago in Brunei, my daughter began preschool at the International School Brunei (ISB). Like any parent, I was watchful and hopeful. But what began as curiosity soon turned into a heartfelt passion for early childhood education.
At ISB, I saw something beautiful—children nurtured with respect, patience, and creativity. Their learning wasn’t rushed. It was a partnership. Each child was seen, heard, and celebrated. That experience ignited something in me: I wanted to be part of that world.
So I enrolled in ISB’s Early Years Education course. What I learned changed my perspective forever. Preschool isn’t just about academics—it’s about laying the foundation for a child’s emotional, social, and intellectual journey. I learned how important it is to meet children at their level, interpret their needs with empathy, and inspire them with kindness.
I went on to join ISB’s team of educators, where I embraced my role as a caregiver just as much as a teacher. Every child taught me something new—something to cherish.
